Don't they all?
Honda- Acura
Toyrota- Lexus
Ford-Lincoln Merc
Nissan- Infiniti - An infiniti M is just a Maxima, the 350Z's high
maintenance girlfriend is the G35?
Ford-Mazda
I know there are some others, right?

Notice I left Dodge/Jeep/Chrysler off that list, I am not sure they still
fit in the category of "successful" after the past few months... and decades
of really cool cars.
The viper is awesome, but why doesn't anyone drive them? (probably because
they are a PIA and too much of a thrill ride for anyone that can afford one

The front end of the Solstice is too much of a 55 gallon barrel
sitting sidewards and the 1/4s and rear deck of the sky are better looking
too. They are both roundy but the sky has a little more definition.

Well Olds had a big following and so did a few Buick cars...
They appealed to the older generation. They were typically cushier cars.
The Le Sabre and Park ave were prime examples of a GM screw up. The Le
Sabre was the best selling in it's class for a long time and doing well so
GM in their infinite wisdom decided to can it and start over. And they lost
sales with the new replacement. Same thing happened to Ford. The Taurus was
a very well selling car. They decided to try to appeal to the younger
generation and in doing so screwed up the car and lost their existing
customer base and never gained the one they went after and then the car
dissapeared and now they bring the name back onto a poorly named car to
start the 500. (poor naming job there)

That was an interesting drivetrain in those cars and fun. I
thought they were ugly and reminded me of the riviera. As you can tell I
have a thing against cars that are too roundy. I prefer more straight lines
which is why I prefer the GN over the Monte SS. I prefer those straight
lines as the curveys remind me of new cars.

Olds was below Buick and above Chevy in their class.
Honestly I never understood why they had so many divisions that just took
the basic car designed an interior and exterior and try to pass it off as a
different car. How many successful car companies do that today? Hmm.
