We anal-retentive transcriber types like to have rulers, for maximum
accuracy!

You probably don't even need a ruler -- just a good eye. Though if things do go wrong, the ruler can help to get the point across to us.
One of the nice things about Tiger embossers is that there is a "Viewer" application available, so we can often see problems just as you see them, even though we don't have a Tiger on-site.

The main thing is to make sure that you're getting something like WYSIWYG results with different test cases. We don't have a comprehensive set of test cases. And, given the different nature of graphics possibilities on different embosser families, I'm not sure that we even could have a comprehensive set for multiple families. But I can give you some idea of what tends to go wrong.
We often misunderstand the ratio of graphics spacing to text spacing. This should be harder to do on a Tiger than on other families, because everything is done as graphics. But DBT isn't built to match this, so we wind up having to determine and rely on ratios anyhow.
When we get the ratio wrong, then graphics will be represented badly on the DBT screen or page breaks will be incorrect. We can wind up leaving blank space down at the bottom of a page if we think an image is larger than it turns out to be on the device. We can wind up overruning the page if we think that an image is smaller than it turns out to be.
In the case of a Tiger embosser, this would result in the image being clipped at the bottom or right edge of the page.
DBT's graphics centering feature won't work if we've miscomputed things either.

What would be required to test this functionality? As this is a very important function, we would be willing to test this as much as possible.
While I understand that this will, most likely, not make it into this release we would be willing to test anything you have for the next release.

Thanks for the feedback. We need to hear these things sometimes.
I don't think that we're going to be able to do this for DBT 10.6. But I do plan to put DBT into something nearly like a "continuous" beta once DBT 10.6 is shipping. That is, the plan is to add more modest improvements and release more frequently than what has been done for this round. Among the improvements, we could presumably offer better support for Tiger embossers.
I just hesitate to do it now, because improved support, while reasonably simple to code, will require either an intense testing effort or a longer time than we now have, if the testing is to done without a bullwhip.

As a Mathematics teacher I use Duxbury frequently. We do
have a Tiger
but my use of it is limited and I have not found it as easy
to use. In
particular I have found it difficult to create of a multiple paged document with diagrams in it. I would expect to find this
task easier
if the Tiger was directly supported within DBT. So I, for

Tigers, and the drivers that come with them, are very good at producing graphics.
But DBT doesn't directly support that.
The problem for us has simply been lack of consumer demand. There's nothing about the Tiger that would prevent us supporting graphics within DBT, but we haven't heard much call for it.

Are you saying that the Tiger driver will not support graphics, or that the implementation of graphics is incompatible with the driver for the Tiger?
The main reason we purchased a Tiger embosser was to
produce graphics.
If we cannot produce graphics inline with text this will severely
limit its
usefulness.

The driver for the Tiger does not support graphics. This is something we knew.

For past versions of DBT, we have occasionally been hit with problems with graphics.
We have made so many changes to the embossing machinery,
it a quite
possible that some aspect of graphics may have a problem.
Of course, many models of embossers do not support graphics. But those that do, we want to properly support.
Attached is a graphics file.
To import into DBT, go to the layout menu, then picture,
add, then
select this file.
