George,

I'd forgotten about the lockup when running DBT in RDC. This raises the
issue to the (oft resented) "must fix" level. Of course, it will be good
for all to make it optional anyhow.

Reference # 1144.

(Sorry - I forgot point 3)

And you can count on us too, Peter. That said....

1) It would be good if it was optional.

2) Would it help of it could be activated by a key other than Shift - but
which key?

3) You'll need to be able to turn it off if you want to use DBT over
Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection as it freezes the proggy.

George.

Lissa,

Well, at least I can still count on Eileen for support. ;-)

Thanks for the additional perspective.

Not to begin the beating, :) but all the transcribers here just agreed that
it's just like the Microsoft paper clip, an unnecessary cluttering of the
interface that should be removed as soon as possible.

More importantly, I noticed that this feature does NOT work at all when my
screen display is white-on-black instead of black-on-white (set in the
control panel); from what I understand, most low-vision users find
white-on-black much more useful to work with.

The transcribers also pointed out that low-vision users often have their own
magnification software anyway and may not want to use this feature; however,
Eileen Curran said that it was a useful thing to have, she liked it very
much.
