Hi Jack, As a member of the expert group working on the unification of French braille, I can reassure you: the capital sign has not been changed... Dots 4-6, in any case! Did you notice the anomaly on an embossed text or on a braille display? If the sign is correctly embossed, then the problem is a wrong choice in the display table. Try again, and give more details if this is still wrong so that I can help. I can hardly imagine that the francophone community has suddenly changed this. Surely others would have noticed the difference. I re-installed an autobuild and The conventional capital sign was used. One way of grouping the differences in braille used throughout the world, is the differences in punctuation. European braille, often uses a dot 3 for a full stop and dots 2-6 for question marks. Thus on the basis of these three criteria, arise two different traditions, and when looking at minority languages, you can tell which ex-colonial power did the braille. The missionaries out of SSIL, always use North American braille. I will do further testing, however as my braille device has to go into hospital, I'll be winging it with synthetic speech. Hope all's well with everyone Regards Jack ----- Original Message ----- From: "Émile Ouellet" <emile@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <duxhelp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, May 26, 2004 6:42 PM Subject: [duxhelp] Re: Beta 3 is available > Thanks Peter to have make change for the focus on print document for a new > document. > > It is more easier for braille user's. > > Émile from Québec. > > ----- Message d'origine ----- > De : "Peter Sullivan" <peter@xxxxxxxxxx> > À : <duxhelp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> > Envoyé : 26 mai 2004 15:02 > Objet : [duxhelp] Beta 3 is available > > > DBT Beta Testers, > > Beta 3 is available now for download at http://partners.duxburysystems.com > > There are significant improvements to the JAWS scripts, which many of you > already have.
