Here in northern Arizona we have been driving quite a bit (in between
the rain storms that have been coming through). Last weekend was the
Arizona CDE at Coolidge with 51 entries (only four VSE entries though,
which is our division). The weather was perfect for it and the ground
had dried out enough from the storm of the week before that we didn't
even get muddy. Bob drove his team of 35" minis to a winning dressage
score and would have won if he had not have come in too early on the
marathon (He said he just couldn't get them to walk slow enough on the
last 500 meters). I drove my single 37" mini and we had a great time. It
was only his second CDE (have done two ADTs also with him). We came in
third, since I am still trying to get him collected and on the bit.
I'll attach a few pictures of us.
Also coming up is a performance of our driving drill team, the Petite
Elite, at the Year of the Horse (or is it called the Night of the
Horse?) in DelMar, CA, in mid-April. So we are practicing alot with our
drill team down in Phoenix to be perfect for that event. All eleven of
us will be driving over for that. I wonder if anyone out there will be
attending that event? Come on by and say "hi"!
