Shirley, who raised Austin? Does he know whether his father was around
in WA or did he vanish after Veronica's death?

Funny but there is an Au*b*rey buried at Karrakatta about the same age as our William – but he is shown as marrying a Dorothy Ferry in 1932 - Williams wife died in May 1932. Probably no connection L
