Thanks so much for all your helpful information. I did have most of it and yes
it is quite possible William & Bonny were never married. I really would like
to track down when and where William died. He is a bit of a mystery man !!!

There is no apparent marriage here in WA although the Mullins family was a
Goldfields/Perth family. The other strange thing is that young Austin is shown
as 'Austin Mullins'.
