From the death notices of Austins father , I presume Austin grandparents
took over raising him at some stage ie why he reverted to being called
Austin Mullins,
There are some mentions of Austin on Trove.
(haven't been able to find a marriage for the grandparents either)

I find it odd/interesting that for Veronicas Funeral notice nearly all the
family posted invites to intend instead of just one main one.

I've checked the online BDM for NSW, Vic and QLD and the limited SA one but
no sign of William's birth or their marriage so far.
Also tried the NAA incase he was in the services
