Dominique:

In the motif, I believe you need to do two things. first, you need to enable
the USB port, and then you need to turn local control off. I am not sure if I
remember the steps correctly, but I can give you an idea and if you can get
sighted help, you'll be able to do it.

First, I think you need to be on the voice screen, you go there by pressing
voice. Then, I think you need to press utility. Then you press F5, and then
SF2. Once there, I don't remember where, but in one column, there is an option
to select between the midi port, the USB port, and the land port. After you
select the USB port, then you go to the next column and turn local control off.

Remember, when you have local control off, you will not hear anything from your
keyboard until you insert a midi track in Sonar. In order to use the keyboard
by itself, you will need to turn local control on.

Sorry that I cannot give you any more precise information.

With regards to the functions of the motif itself, I can't help you there
because so far i have only use the motif with Sonar.

Good luck.

Ok. I did the two options in Sonar. I think. Now, I was asking, what button on
the Motif do I push for it to sync? I know their’s a remoat button or something
like that. When I turn the keyboard on, what do I do?
What do I press? And yes, I’m only going through Usb… Thanks for your help.

I’m new to this keyboard so it’ll take some time.

Oh and another thing, when I use just the Keyboard it self, how do I qwontize?
I know how to make a patteron and then save, but the patterns are off alittle,
and the Click track is too low.

Sorry if this is too mutch…

Len:

I have a ProjectMix and a Motif XS8. If you are already using your motif
through USB, there is no need to run it through the midi ports on the
ProjectMix. I use my Motif through the USB connection without any problems.

Dominique:

If you are using the Motif through the USB connection, then In Sonar, you need
to go to the options menue by pressing alt-O. Once there, first hit enter on
the Midi Devises option and make sure that Motif XS8-1 is checked for both midi
input and output. Then, you need to go to the instruments option also under
the options menue and select or check all 16 channels of the Motif XS8-1.
After you do all of that, it should start working fine.

I hope that's helpful.

1x1 midi. What is the best way of connecting my yamaha motif xs. Do i keep it
connected to my pc via USB or do i connect it through the project mix midi
