If yo8u are planning on using it with line 6 hardware you wouldn't need an ILock.

I was under the distinct impression that I didn't need an I-Lock
authorization, coz I'd purchased certain Line6 bitz & pieces etc...

Maybe I'll have to check it out again?

Yes. Even though the software is freeware, they still require the ILock
key, probably because the original paid version did and they weren't going
to bother to change it. I use the same key as I am using for the korg
collection. I will say though that getting the software properly authorized
was a pain, but it really sounds great and we can authorize it ourselves,
which we can't do with Native Instruments at this time.

Why do you have to use a dongle?

Is this for an I-Lock access thing?

Cheers

I'm just using it as a vst soft synth. I have considered getting one of
the line 6 hardware pedals to use it for live use, but I really don't like
using usb audio devices for soft synths since I use something like 11 of
them live. I haven't tried using the pod farm live because I don't want
to
have to remember to bring my dongle with me all the time.

So, are you using Gear Box or Guitar Port, or are these irrelevant?

I just use the track inspector. You can select the different amp models
in
there and then tweak 0parameters.\

Hey Gord!

How do you utilize Pod farm?

I ain't been able to work that one out?

I'm up with using the JAWS cursor, so that ain't a prob...

Please could you give me some pointers?

By the way, have you had any sighted help with Guitar Rig 3?

cheers

Mike

I just don't think guitar rig 3 is worth the trouble. I like the free
line
6 pod farm better and it is a lot more straight forward to use, and it's
free. You do need a dongle though.

That's not entirely true...

With a little sighted help, you can get to most of the presets.

Although it ain't totally comprehensive, its possible to access 80/90%
of
their parameters.

Alright, it takes a little time/patience, but for a Native Instruments
product, and if you can be bothered to invest a little time, its
workable/usable!

Brian, if I am not misrepresenting what you stated in one
of our erleyer conversations, Guitar Rig is inaccesible,
so why would a blind person instal it?

Thanks

I downloaded both 8.5 and the 8.51 patch.

Lots of little things seem to break when you uninstall
the older 8.0/8.3 of Sonar. On my system, uninstalling,
even when selecting to leave shared components, broke
Z3ta such that it wouldn't load anymore.

Did you get the download version of Sonar 8.5, or did
you install for DVD?

Bryan

Hi all. Yesterday I uninstalled sonar 8.31 and
installed Sonar 8.5, the 8.51 patch, and the latest
snapshot of JSonar. Everything seems fine thus far,
except for guitar rig 3. Whenever I try to load it, it
says the following plug in failed to load, then it gives
the path to the vst plug in folder in the cakewalk
folder. It doesn't give any freaking reason why or
solution. All there is is the okay button. This is less
than helpful.

When I rescan failed and existing vst plug ins however,
everything is fine, I don't get any faled to load
messages etc.

But, when I try to load guitar rig 3 after the scan, I
get the exact same error.

now, I uninstalled sonar 8.31, but, I did not uninstall
guitar rig 3 or the ni service center. If you run guitar
rig 3 stand alone, it seems to load okay, but it wil not
load in sonar.

I have an idea. I did a complete install and perhaps
the guitar rig 3 .dll file was overwritten? But that
being said, there was not a "file already exists, would
you like to replace" sort of dialogue box. The
installation was not interrupted for any reason.

Any suggestions?

I loaded guitar rig 3 when I was still using Sonar 8.31
and you can actually get to approx fourty of the presets
from the presets list of the plug in's window. I'm also
wondering if there is a way to add them all to that
preset list. That would be neat.

Thanks,

Cameron.
