I think in general the simple instrument track would be best for you.

Hello Gordon,
Your discription to my question is too abstract at this
point in my learning curve. What would you recommend for a
newbee to do in terms of incerting pair of soft synth
tracks versus Simple Instrument tracks? Which of the two
would be the best to go for?
Thanks
Ivan

Hello:
Originally, soft synths had to be inserted as a pair of tracks, one midi
and one an audio track to carry the soft synth's audio output. The simple
instrument track combines them into one track. Normally, this is a good
way to work, but there are some isolated situations where you may still
want to have the two separate tracks because of some limitations in
sonar's track inspector when displaying effect parameters of instrument
tracks, and of course with multi timbral synths like hypersonic or the
tts1 where you will want more than one midi track assigned to the same
soft synth on separate midi channels.

Hello all,
I have read the tutorial for CT 8.5 and I still can't
understand what is the need for inserting the synths as a
pair of soft synth tracks, versus just a Simple Instrument
track. Can anyone tell me the relevance of these concepts
in creating music projects through Sonar?
Thanks
Iván
