Hi. The accessible version of pro tools for macintosh should be out in a couple weeks. If it is not out for some reason, or on the off chance your college uses windows pcs for midi and audio courses, (probably not likely), then he can't force you to use software that is not accessible if you use a screen reader. You can learn and demonstrate the same audio and midi concepts in sonar that you can with any other daw. If he won't listen to reason, then go to the head of the department, or higher up if you have to. Cameron. However, pro tools on windows is a lost cause, not only for its lack of accessibility. Anyways, yes you can use your m box with sonar and goldwave etc. just download the stand alone drivers from the avid/digidesign web site. Be sure to uninstall pro tools before you install the stand alone drivers though. That should work. Cameron. It simpley isn't showing up as a recording device. I needed sighted help to enstall it with its own version of pro-tools which by the way isn't accessible for the blind. The people at the mbox website don't seem to have a clue about making their software blind friendly. I don't actually need pro-tools, but apparently the mbox does. Does anyone else have an mbox2, and if so could they please tell me how to get the thing working. I was told an m-audio soundcard is the best thing for recording music with Sonar, podcasting and other audio work I have in the works, but so far I can't get anything to work with it, and the m-audio people are no help. Any help would be appreciated. Many thanks from Lori Duncan.
