No, line out level is just that, line level. A microphone does not output at
line level, so if the input is for microphone and not for line, it doesn’t
match. You might want to check the line input if you have 1, and use that.

Good point. this Avid 11rack conection was developed for:

line output to amp, mixer or P A .

It's coming out the Rigg sound and that's exactly what I want since I dont
enjoy much stereo guitar recording .

Should be low level output, do you agree ?

...

I just found a similar cable around my studio, and this one it's only a
mono Jack to mono XLR !

Both seems to do the same result, no noise issues and testing this last set
up with the mono jack within Sonar most of recording levels input are around
minus 14, one or two clean riggs came close to minus 6 . It seems that no
Rigg is to loud which is fine .

Anyway exist the minus 10 pad on each pre amp if necessary right ?!

Thanks a bunch,

You need to make sure impedance matches. If the line out is a balance mono
out, you should be fine. If the cable run is short, you can do this with a
regular ts or trs ¼ inch cable. The problem with running it to xlr is that
those are usually set for low line mic pickup/input, and if you feed it a
high level or line level output, it might distort the sound, or in worst
case, damage your pre-amp depending on the output level/volume.

Hi folks,
If I'm not missing anything should be ok to use a cable that I have around,

it has got:
male stereo Jack to balanced XLR ,
And my aim is: I want to direct out from Avid 11rack mono line out, female
jack, and using the refered above cable I want to direct the sound to one of

my XLR MAudio Profire 2626 inputs.
Well I know that since the male jack is stereo it will only send the left
side right ? the source is a mono line out though !
Well, the doubt is: is it possible to lose sound quality?
 or it's fine ?
