I know, and I even see a lot of folks in the BEP program in a lot of states, including ours, that aren't getting rich at it, and are not tech savy. But I am sure they could get a lot of good out of a simple to use device. But I guess our friends would rather they continue to use a Perkins Braille Writer since they aren't technically gifted. ----- Original Message ----- From: "John Melia" <uncle.jam@xxxxxxxxxxx> To: <bookport@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Tuesday, April 11, 2006 9:02 PM Subject: [bookport] Re: Suggestion for New Feature :I agree with you I work making 30 thousand dollars a year and I can't buy : such things as the backdates and other such stuff. in fact I can't justify : buying anyway. : and why is it that blind folks have to be very techie in order to use some : of the stuff out there. if many sight folks had to work as hard to get a : thing to work they would not do it. : ----- Original Message ----- : From: "David Tanner" <david-tanner@xxxxxxxxxxxx> : To: <bookport@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> : Sent: Tuesday, April 11, 2006 9:57 PM : Subject: [bookport] Re: Suggestion for New Feature : : : > That is what I thought too, but I have noticed that that only works as : > long is it doesn't cross with the wants of certain people on the list who : > love to be critical of any idea that isn't theirs. : > : > My concern at this point is that I see the Book Port as a device which : > could fill the need for a good book reader, and also the need for an easy : > to use organizer.
