Have you looked at the lates Adobe? I think it does a fairly good job. I won't say it is perfect, but it has gotten a lot better. I just wonder about how much processing power it will take to process a very large pdf file or maybe if the processing were done by the transfer software prior to transfering it to the BP. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Walt Smith" <walt@xxxxxxxxxx> To: <bookport@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Tuesday, April 11, 2006 9:14 AM Subject: [bookport] Re: Suggestion for New Feature : Larry - : : I agree with your general emphasis here. The problem with PDF, though, is : that as far as I know, nobody has _ever_ managed to translate PDF into text : that's really reliable and readable. I'd love to have the ability to render PDF into truly : readable form, but I'm pretty skeptical, based on years of experience : working with the format, that this can ever be accomplished. : : ----- Original Message ----- : From: "LARRY SKUTCHAN" <lskutchan@xxxxxxx> : To: <bookport@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> : Sent: Tuesday, April 11, 2006 8:21 AM : Subject: [bookport] Re: Suggestion for New Feature : : : What I'd really like to devote more engineering time toward is : supporting more file types.
