Hi! It's kind-a funny that this topic was introduce. I just attached a splitter to my book port today for the first time. So far, I haven't noticed any problems with it. It worked really well, and my friend enjoyed getting to listen to part of an audio book during our lunch break. Hope this helps. Missy
