I would find it kind of funny to watch two folks, each wearing a pair of
headphones, walking around their house with the Bookport dangling in
between n them!

I have regularly plugged such a splitter into the headphone jack on my
bookport. The extra weight might well be the reason I have an
intermittent
short in that jack now. Alternatively, you could plug in an external
speaker
or an FM transmitter in order to share the experience across a wider
range.
There are plenty of reasons why I'd rather not send my bookport back to
APH
for repair but I may have no other option. Heck I don't even want to do
without it overnight if I can help it.
