In an old song by Aretha Franklin there's a quote I like, "hard, cold, and
cruel becomes the man who feels he paid too much for what he got."  Since
some of us have had to sacrifice so much for what we have, we fit that
definition.

Yes, and the only format that Stream plays that Book Port doesn't is NLS.
On the other hand Book Port plays a lot that Stream does not.
 
Boat anchor?  I think he wants a lot for as little as he can pay for it, and
probably would prefer a new unit that reads every file format known to man
that has books recorded in it for free.

there is no way to convert the old book port to play talkingbooks. and the
book port is not a boat anchor it plays more file formats than anything out
there.  It is still a good deal for the money.  aft is not the first kid on
the block but when they show up with a product it is well thought out.

   You no, I do understand that as blind individuals we have no lobby,
absolutely no voice, and most of all no business complaining about anything.
Of course I don't want to seam ungrateful for what I have, but not being
able to play n l s books on the current bookport is a stone bummer.
   To many blind persons four hundred fifty dollars is a large chunk of
change. As we all no lots of blind folks are on a fixed income and don't
have much discretionary money to spend on book players.
   I wonder, could it be possible that the printing house could set up a
program where  you could send your bookport back for a conversion so it
would play n l s books. Maybe this could say cost fifty bucks and be sent
free matter. After all this is,  "the American printing house for, and I do
mean for, the blind.
