Let me clear some things up regarding activation of the Book Port as an =
Audible device, and the types of files that Book Port Transfer shows.

The Activation Button

The activation button on the Advanced page of the Options dialog is only =
there for completeness; since the Deactivate button is there we decided to =
leave the Activate button there as well. While one may choose to use this =
button for activation, it is easier to just send an Audible file.

Upon sending an Audible file, the software checks to see if the device is =
activated. If it is not, the Enter Audible.com Information dialog appears, =
just as if the Activate button was selected. In short, new users should =
forget about the Activate button.

File Types

Book Port Transfer supports a number of file types, and all supported =
files are displayed by default. You can, if you wish, limit the types of =
files displayed by changing the selected item in the Files Of Type box. =
Book Port Transfer does not hide Audible files when the device is not =
activated. In fact, Book Port Transfer does not hide any supported file =
types.

Audible Folder

Book Port Transfer requires Audible Manager to determine where the default =
download folder is for Audible files. So, once Audible Manager is =
installed, one need simply press Alt+R followed by Enter immediately after =
starting Book Port Transfer to locate the Audible downloads folder. There =
is no need to attempt to locate the folder yourself.

Note: if you send a file before pressing Alt+R, the folder you sent the =
last file from will be at the top of the favorites list. In this situation,=
you will need to use the Down Arrow to locate the Audible folder.

I can only suspect that in this particular case of not seeing Audible =
files before activating, one of the following was true:

1. A refresh (F5 key) was needed.

2. The download was still in progress while attempting to locate the =
Audible file.

Pamela, interesting. When I did this with Mike, we did not do alt r for =
he
hadn't had any books in his recent. He does now though. So what we did =
was
arrow to the correct path and folder by conventional means. When he got =
to
c:\program files\audible\programs\downloads (I think that's the path), all
he saw in the trans application was the in progress folder. However, the
moment I took him to the options advanced tab and activated his bookport, =
he
was able to see his audible files and do the send.
