How do you get the BC to spell phonetically, or is that possible at all?

Hi George,
I personally love Doubletalk, and don't forget, you can stop BC and spell any words you don't understand. You will never get SAPI speech built into the current BC, you can however, already create MP3 files read by SAPI speech, and then transfer them to the Book Courier. Long live Doubletalk!

Hi:
I don't like the doubletalk voices, find some words hard to understand. I
am a long time user of speech synthesizers, going back to the old TSI Vert
systems. I spoke to the tech at BC, he said Eloquence was too expensive but
they are working on a SAPI5 speech engine, I think this would improve the BC
immensely. Any thoughts on this?
Thanks,
George R. Marshall

Hi
If you are putting it into a word pad document I think the Bookcourier
should be able to understand it, it is able to access text documents but not
Word, you'd have to save it as a text document. I like the voice on the
Bookcourier but I don't think I'd like to listen to a whole document or book
in it. You could download a program called textrecorder, its free and this
can convert things into MP3 format so you can put it on the BC. If I can
help further feel free to contact me off list.
Textrecorders web site is:

Happy reading.

Diane

Dear Diane,
I have the manual. Now, I am scanning a book with a scanner from a paperback, but it is a new scanner much smaller than a flatbed. It's my book, so I can rip pages out. I am saving the book, one page at a time in Wordpad. Can I transfer this book later to my Book Courier and be able to read it?
