Trevor et. al.
This all is predicated if your car has the same parts per my pictures....or
maybe if, a different upgrade or series ..........???
I suggested that someone might call Mong and find out these parts were off of
...OR....maybe has a print? Take a look at Fiats in the 60's.....or VW's,
especially the CV joint flange piece. Also BMW's....I can't see if these very
few cars had these parts from scratch.
Crazy money but a really short run of 2.....3...? If both

Hi Trevor,Asked the guys who support the car....they sent pictures....actually
I think I might need to go back and attach those. Anyway, if they can do the
following I want to do this.....assume it is exactly what you are also
doing.Thanks, T. K.
Hi Tom, If you are keeping the Bobsy long term then yes, it would be wise to
get a set made. That is a good price quoted. I sent you photos for yours, it
would be wise to make sure the ones they are making are the same. See if you
can confirm that. Also make sure they are making the axle and yoke as a pair.

Hello TomI have now found an engineering company in the UK who are making a
pair for me from billet as we speak. The company has a good track record as
they make a lot of the drive shafts for Formula 1. They estimate the cost at
about £800+ for the pair ie probably about $1150 US before taxes, currency
charges and carriage (you would not suffer UK VAT sales tax but I don't know
about customs duty at the US end). They are using a stronger material than
original and also making the spacers. If you would like a pair please let me
know. If you are prepared to have them immediately I will ask them to double
up on the present work and get them to firm up on the price as well. For your
interest we removed the other stub axle this morning and it was also twisted.
The last time we checked it was a few weeks ago and it was fine. Since then we
have only done one test day and one short race. RegardsTrevor

Trevor,Tom Kinsman here. If you do need to get those parts made I would also be
interested since my SRII will someday need them I'm sure.Let me know where you
are in the process.Thank you, T. k.

I think possibly these were originally made from an axle and reconfigured
andfrom a billet or forging or a long shot will be from an axle that can be
re-profiled.
It would be interesting to find a print or just what or made.
You might contact; Elite Fab & Machine
Hilliard, Ohio USA Ronald Mong
ron@elitefab.comthis is Jerry Mong's son.....possibly he can shed some lite on
this. A qiuck fix with a used part might get you on the way but it would be
nice to see if there any new parts somewhere, rather than used upparts. If when
you contact Mong and he has a print and the SR2 and SR3 are the same I could
use a print. I'm thinking that these items were machined from unfinished rear
axles (forgings) ..MY stubs are about5" long and the flange is 5.5" + - . If
you run out of steam as above, I might be able to find a custom axlecompany
that have forged blanks to make to order on the east coast here. a one off
might be pricey.....but maybe a few want a spare or two.

When attempting to change a noisy rear wheel bearing on my SR2 we found the
splines on the shaft/flange had twisted and also there were horizontal hairline
cracks on the splines. This flange is therefore junk (we had to resort to a
hammer to get the wheel bearing over the bent splines!). Are these one- piece
splined shaft/flanges a standard part from another vehicle and are they
generally available to buy in the US ? If not, has anyone got a spare in good
shape they could sell me? The engineering shops in the UK are quoting a
minimum of 16 weeks to make a new one but I need one within 4 weeks for a major
race at Brands Hatch and then the Goodwood Revival a little while later. Many
thanks
