Perhaps a drawshave or if you could find a heavy spokeshave? If you've
got more stock than you'd like to tackle with little hand tools, maybe
an adze would do. They've got blades either horizontal to the handle
like a hoe or parallel like an ax. Depends on what you'd feel more
comfortable and safe with too. If you've got short stock you might set
them up in a lathe and rough them down that way, have to watch those
bloody knots though! You could put a chisel through the roof or the
floor or yourself!

No Microsoft garbage used here, sent by a very satisfied Linux-Mint
<http://www.linuxmint.com/> user (a former disgruntled Microsoft user).
You could check out Vinux, Linux for the visually impaired
<http://wiki.vinuxproject.org/>.
This email and any attachments are not virus scanned either, that's up
to you poor Microsoft users to deal with.
I'd rather be a wild and wacky Linux Penguin than a docile,
domesticated, Microsoft sheep.
