Hi Monica,
If you are hearing JAWS say a page number, but see no such number
on your braille display, but see page breaks followed by consecutive and
consistent page numbering in other places in the book, it is possible that
you need to increase the paper size in MSWord. If the paper size is too
small to accommodate the amount of print that would appear on a page, Word
inserts what are called soft page breaks to let you know where it would
change pages. If you choose the largest paper size, you will see only the
real and actual page breaks in the book.
/As to your question about the asterisks, you should leave those
alone if no other text appears on the page above the chapter headings.
Those asterisks are there to preserve the chapter headings, to protect
them from the stripper.

leave the stars there so the stipper doesn't remove the chapter number?
