[bksvol-discuss] Re: slow web site

I have cable. I haven't timed how long it takes the
first page to open--I'd say a couple of minutes, even
with cable -- much faster than when I was on dial-up
-- but once there, it doesn't take long to switch back
and forth from the page one to the book I want to
download or check to see if I want to, and then back
again. I think, as I posted before, that the time of
day has something to do with it. Both bookshare and
the internet itself and browser could be busy at
vusier times of day. Also, I think what takes the
download page so long to open is how long it is. If it
could be divided into sections as to type, e.g. rtf
books, txt etc., it would take less time to open, I
think. To ask for books by type then takes even
longer, because it has to scan the whole collection
and select the books.
