Sue,

The login delay is caused by your screen reader recognizing the dialog box
asking you to confirm.  I would suggest that you use your screen reader's
read current line key (INS+arrow up, for JFW) to read the screen a few
seconds after you hit the login.  This will allow you to know whether you
need to press enter to accept.
