I'm writing to the list, because, though I'm not the least bit interested in
cookbooks, I am willing to help a scanner or proofer with ingredient
measurements. Several I've helped people They've given me the page number or
the recipe title and I've used the index to find the recipe, and I've sent
the correct measurement of the ingredient. Actually, I've enjoyed several of
the recipes I read doing this, and even bought a couple of the books for my
daughters.

Hi, I wish to know if there are sighted people on the volunteer list who
adore cookbooks. The reason I ask is I found some really nifty ones I'd love
to see in the collection. I wrote Carrie about this one, and she thought I
should ask you folks. As I understand it, cookbooks are a bear to scan
and/or proofread, so this is not for the faint of heart, just for sighted
lovers of gastronomy. A lot of the books have to do with sweets, but I've
found some nifty ones concerned with foreign cuisines. I was thinking that I
could buy some (not all at once) and have them sent to the home address of
the potential submitters, etc. I have no idea if anyone will be interested
in this, but could you email me off list to let me know yea or nay on this?
