Does anyone know why there are underlines between the words in the first place? Why not just empty spaces between words?

I'm sure I don't know why some books get through. I'm sure I have submitted books with an apostrophe in them before. Yet, this time when I removed it from the file name, it went through. One of those computer mysteries, you think?
