My guess is that it showed up in the Google search as a cached page, basically 
history. The same thing with book share. They don’t remove the link from 
history, but it won’t show up in a current search since it is not currently 
available. Knowing that it had been available as a PQ book means it’s likely to 
show up again as a Publisher Quality book after they repair whenever caused it 
to be withdrawn. In other words you could scan it, but I would think the risk 
of it being replaced with the high if that bothers you. Ideally someone from 
within book share could let you know why it was withdrawn and the likelihood of 
it being replaced or not.
