Hi Lori! What I have done for a long time is have a file I made called "my checked out books" where I list the books in the order they need to be renewed. Then when I renew them and get the new date, I incert the new date, delete the old date and then shuffle the book in that file so that the next one that needs renewing is always at the top and the one I renewed just then is at the bottom until it gets replaced by something else. That way, if the web page is down or I can't get internet access for any reason or I just don't want to bother launching the browser, logging into Bookshare, going to volunteer home and then to my checked out books just to remind myself when something needs renewing, I always can check that file as a way to speed up the process. I started that when I accidently forgot to renew a book in time several years ago when I was a new volunteer, so it expired. I was fortunate to get it back, because no one else was interested, or I was quick enough.

I had a book which needed to be renewed today; however, I did not get a renewal notice, just the notice that said my book had expired. This same thing happened to my husband several weeks ago, so I guess we can't count on receiving the notice.
