Hi Alison, Arc is the format used by Openbook, another OCR package that's a competitor to Kurzweil. Unfortunately if you don't have Openbook, you can't work on those files. It's a shame to because I would like to get my hands on that great big pile of language teaching and learning books that someone submitted. Kellie
