While scouting out our route for Glasgow Christmas Bird Count, we saw several
hundred Sandhill cranes in the air over north Glasgow and assumed they were
headed south. Thus, we believe there will be a spectacular showing of Sandhill
cranes going to roost at Beaver creek boat ramp this afternoon.
In addition, we found a dead Great Horned owl on the side of the road, saw 2
bald eagles in the air, and many Pipits and Horned Larks in 2 different fields.
Tom, Sandy and I were wishing we were conducting the CBC today rather than on
1/1.
