Sadly, no photographs, but my most unusual yard bird was (back in Colorado) a nesting pair of Cooper's Hawks. Although they were nesting in a tree only about 10 feet outside my property line, it was impossible to see the nest without walking around the block. From the park on the other side, you could get a good view of the nest, but nowhere else. The only thing I could call an "unusual yard bird" since I've been here in Virginia was the 100,000-odd American Robins I saw fly over a week after the 2013 Blackford CBC.
