Bryan -
Barry is running a practice 10 AM Saturday morning. Pop by and give that try
for a start. Barry does a dynamite job with stage design and you'll learn
navigating field courses working with him.
I'm a master class shooter and came in 16th place out of 175 guys at the New
England Championship last August. I can teach you and your buddies and lay out
a plan to get you to Master Class in IDPA. When you pass that level we can
bring a top 20 Pro shooter to Bradford. That will make for a nice weekend next
summer! PM me at jafolloni@xxxxxxxxx and we can talk about where you're at and
what you'd like to accomplish. I'm glad to help you anyway I can.
If more folks on this list are interested, I can teach my "Practical Pistol"
course again. That spans 3 days over 3 weekends and covers everything I've
learned so far. LOL - Here's the Readers Digest Version: Sight Picture, Sight
Alignment, Trigger Control.
That's where all shooting starts, then it takes a long winding road and returns
back to its beginnings. Sorry - that's a lot of Zen for a Friday night!
Bill -
A week or two before the next match Wade will post a notice on this list with a
link to Practiscore where you can register. Registration is not required, but
it helps Wade to create the scoring sheets and lets us know how many shooters
to expect.
We'll be going with the new rules as I have to get familiar with them ahead of
the Indoor Nationals in February!
Thanks all and best -
Jack

and possibly 2 friends for $?Thank youBryan Folgo4015788578

I am good with emphasizing accuracy. And most of the changes should be fine.
I'm anxious to get back to shooting matches.
Do we sign up in advance for the next one, or is it OK to show up that morning
and register? And will we go by the latest version of the new rules?
Happy New Year to all Bill Stewart

Haters gonna hate. ;) However, most of the comments I have heard have been
positive.
The two biggest issues are one second per point down and fault lines.
I would have preferred that points down remained at 1/2 a second, but I can
live with one second per point down. I don’t think it will change the outcome
of matches much.
Fault lines will eliminate the subjectivity of cover calls, inconsistent
enforcement of which was a big problem. Some people are concerned that fault
lines will make it harder to engage some targets. This is true. However, I
think it can be addressed by good stage design.
CCP and BUG dimensions/weights changed to make them more realistic, eliminating
some gamer guns from those divisions.
The new target has a 4” down zero circle in the head box. This adds a little
spice to the game.
Everything else in the new rules is simplification, with many restrictions
removed.
So, as far as I am concerned, BAS will remain an IDPA club.

I'm seeing some hate and content in various places about some of the IDPA new
rules. To the point of a club wanting to not be an IDPA club anymore. Or at
lease a suggestion by its members.
Am I missing something with the new rules that are making this to be harder
than it seems?
I know I have been to a match recently, but perhaps I need to come to a match
with the new rules and see for myself.
