I am good with emphasizing accuracy. And most of the changes should be
fine. I'm anxious to get back to shooting matches.
Do we sign up in advance for the next one, or is it OK to show up that
morning and register? And will we go by the latest version of the new rules?

The two biggest issues are one second per point down and fault lines.
I would have preferred that points down remained at 1/2 a second, but I
can live with one second per point down. I don’t think it will change the
outcome of matches much.
Fault lines will eliminate the subjectivity of cover calls, inconsistent
enforcement of which was a big problem. Some people are concerned that
fault lines will make it harder to engage some targets. This is true.
However, I think it can be addressed by good stage design.
CCP and BUG dimensions/weights changed to make them more realistic,
eliminating some gamer guns from those divisions.
The new target has a 4” down zero circle in the head box. This adds a
little spice to the game.
Everything else in the new rules is simplification, with many restrictions
removed.
So, as far as I am concerned, BAS will remain an IDPA club.
