Actually, I didn't recall Bezo acquiring WaPo. I used that reference simply
because out in the Washington DC area, historically, WaPo was the "big
daddy" political news outlet that government bureaucrats needed to fear.
Nowadays, there's plenty of Internet-based, political news outlets -- and
the 24x7 cable news channels -- that could shatter a political career just
as easily. If there's a legitimate scent of blood (ie "story") WaPo (and
everyone else) will publish it. I don't think Jeff Bezos would need to be
involved to make that happen. Besides, any story that cuts into SpaceX,
will likely also cut into Blue Origin -- since they are both grouped into
the "commercial space" sector (as opposed to "government-run space"
sector). So, if anything, I would guess Bezos would want to use his assets
to promote "commercial space" options, in general, not undercut them.
