I think your problem is similar to one I recently saw on Win 7. Result wasn't
brown, but was either "non-profiled", "wrong-profiled" (sRGB?) or
"double-profiled". Was fixed by going into Control Panel for "Color Management"
and selecting the device and associating the new profile with it, and perhaps
dis-associating old profiles. It seemed to be ignoring the Photoshop
instructions. This seems to be part of "Windows Color System" and only in Win7
(I'm a Mac person) trying to emulate the unreliable Apple ColorSync system.
Google it, as there are some Microsoft docs.
Have also seen a problem with calibrations embedded in profiles, possibly not
soft-proofing correctly. I get good results without the calibration. Not really
sure about calibrating "RGB" printers?
