I have been using an Accura 288 for about three years. Downloads with
Arachne usually run at about 3.2 kbytes/sec = 32 kbits/sec. I was given
a 56k modem that I used for a while which usually ran at about 4.2
kbytes/sec. Then that modem died and I switched back to the Accura.
I still have my original 2400 modem that is about 6 x 10 x 2 inches, and
the 14.4 that I upgraded to, which is even smaller than the 288 or 56k
units.
