The following talk might be of interest. Steven Friesen is a Mennonite and a candidate for the Boyer Chair in Biblical Studies, at UT:

February 28: Steven Friesen, Chair and Professor in theDepartment of Religious Studies, at the University of Missouri, will speak on "Injustice or God's Will? Poverty according to Revelation, James, Acts, and the Shepherd of Hermas," at 3 pm in Garrison 100.


Steven Friesen received his PhD from Harvard University (Committee on the Study of Religion) in 1990. He is the author of Twice Neokoros: Ephesus, Asia, and the Cult of the Flavian Imperial Family, and Imperial Cults and the Spocalypse of John: Reading Revelation in the Ruins.
