  You said auto feed does it's own thing but when I first started out in 07' my 
auto feed would start at 0 and go up as usual and I would get thread breaks 
until I went in and set my start value at 3. Since then I don't have alot of 
thread breaks so you might want to look at increasing the start value on the 
auto feed to see if that helps you.  I don't have my machine hooked up to my 
computer right now but I think it is under tools where you set that value.

Try that and I also make sure I use Poly thread and no Rayon as Rayon will 
break a ton in my machine.
