Is the machine an XT or a non XT. For either machine,It would not hurt to remove the needle plate clean the trimmer and hook area with compressed air then lubricate the trimmer. With the needle plate off and the thread removed from the active needle, perform a trim function and see if the Selector and knife are functioning. Check to see if the cables are connected to the back of the knife and selector. More info would help to determine if the problem is mechanical,electrical or software related.
