Natalie, have you checked to make sure that the cutter is working by doing a 
cutter test?  If not then in your Amaya OS click on Tools then on Maintenance 
then on Steppers then under Cutters click on Out and see if the cutter moves 
out and then on In and see if the cutter moves back in.  If not there is a 
metal rod that has on occasion come undone on my machine several times in the 
past that will keep your machine from cutting the thread.
