Hi Carol,

Alex is probably like me. I don't like crap hanging around on my hard
drive, even if it is doing no harm. After all, it is taking up space.

Alex, to answer your query directly, do the following if you want to get rid
of these JAWS components. It is quite safe, so long as you make sure you
select the right items.

1. Visit http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301

2. Download the MS Installer cleanup utility. You can also read the
description of it here too.

3. Install it to your machine.

4. Run it from the program group.

5. Select each component you want to remove, then tab to the remove button
and hit it.

That will get rid of Pesky JAWS as sure as eggs is eggs. I just tried it
here to make sure it works and it does get rid of the Braille server and the
Jaws Talking Installer, which Jaws also leaves behind when you uninstall
it..

All the best

Steve

Hi Alex,

Though it's nice to have things cleanly removed, it's not as vital as
removing, say, a virus checker before installing another. Jaws can stay
"uselessly" and only "in a tiny part" of your hard drive and will do no real

harm.

Are you saying that some of Jaws is showing in the "add Remove" section. If

so, is there not a "Remove" button? I don't quite understand how you have
located the remaining Jaws items.

Anyway, hope you get it sorted soon and we'll all be keen to know how it was

resolved.
