I don't find that strange at all as the phone both talks and speaks - it also
communicates verbally! What do you know yours as?

I find it strange that they call it a talking/speaking phone, well it
is, but its hardly what we know it as and would have no idea that's how
they know it.
there's certainly a lot of room for improved communications here.

Successful aproaches have been made on this front and I have
seen people with phones and Talks under this provision though it appears
communication of this to local stores is somewhat patchy.
The most successful aproaches from some personal experience in
assisting others often involve getting hold of a manager or more
knowledgeable/motivated sales individual at a local Vodafone shop and
ply them with phrases like "talking phone for a blind person". If you
walk in walk with "Talks" or "synbian 60/80" on your lips the sales
unless very into technology for it's own sake glaze over in the way
about 95 percent of general population do.
Lead time between order at shop is about 2 weeks as Deon has
reported.

aha, you've come across the joys of vodafone and talks!
it's been done to
death on here! smile. simply, forget it! vodafone do not
have a clue! they
don't pass on relevant info to their high street stores,
and their customer
service centres don't know what on earth your talking
about. when this was
covered on intouch last year, the story was if you had
any problems contact
some guy called mike duxbury at vodafone. again, don't
bother! maybe i'm
just unlucky but i've never had a response of any sort
from him to my
emails, and last time i tried, the telephone number
given at the time
doesn't work.
rant over! smiles.
