Hi Saqib,

That's no bad thing in my book. USB thumb drives are so cheap nowadays that
you can just copy the contents of a CD to it, and install from there.

All the best

Steve

Hi Carrol. I had downloaded Jaws 9 from the FS website and just went through

the usual procedure of installing the program. As for other third party
applications I just copied the files and folders from the installation CD of

each third party application to my desktop and then transferred the files to

a USB stick and then transferred them on to the Advent and installed those
programs. It's nice to have a mini laptop but this is the only draw back
unless you know the right internet site to download the third party
applications. When I mansion third party applications I mean applications to

do with scanning software for example my Canon scanner came with an
installation CD and if I didn't know where to download the same installation

files that came on the CD then I would have to do the above transferring
routine. If you can get your self a external CD drive then that would save
you allot of time. I'm afraid that CD drives have been sacrificed for size
and portability when it comes to mini or ultra laptops.

Saqid,

Further to the message below (written a little while back now), we have
looked at the 4211 and quite like it, though they didn't have one ready for
us to take away ... We also wanted to check a few things!

You said you'd try a demo of Jaws and I wonder if you have done this and how
you found it worked?

I notice there is no CD slot and would like advise for anyone on the best
way of installing Jaws without using the CD. Do you have to copy a disk
image on to a memory stick, or something like that?

Hope we can get this sorted soon.

Thanks.
