Hotpoint washing machines, I feel, deserve an honourable mention. The one I have has a front panel which is pretty tactile, and people with a bit more sight may appreciate the light show that tells you about the progress of the wash. The dials and buttons do need to be learned, as there isn't a screen reader! However, with initial sighted assistance, I'm very happy with my machine, which I did eventually learn.
If the front panel isn't tactile enough as is, I believe that Hotpoint can supply an even more tactile one with Braille markings. I'm open to correction on the latter point, not being a Braillist.

Theonly downside, is when I have to make half a dozen or so drinks, then I haveto swop fingers, lol. -----Original Message-----From: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf OfKevin Cussick Sent: 25 September 2012 21:34 To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [access-uk] Re: Technology for the kitchen This sounds interesting. where can you buy this thing? thanks in advance. This is just right for a cup of tea or coffee and leaves just enough space for milk. You have to fill it up like a kettle as it only holds about 4 pints butis ideal as you just put the cup underneath to fill it up.Its made by Brevell, if I've spelt it correctly and cost £9.99 topurchase. Excellent for the price and I'm sure there are similar devices made by other manufacturers.regards David Quarmby www.kvin.org.uk www.tail.org.uk quarmby@xxxxxxxxxxxx Tel 07736 087019 ----- Original Message ----- From: "Griffiths, Steve" <Steve.Griffiths@xxxxxxxxxxx> To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Tuesday, September 25, 2012 3:18 PM Subject: [access-uk] Technology for the kitchen I'm writing an article on technology for the kitchen, to appear in the RNIB's NB magazine, which is aimed at health professionals.
