Hi Carol, on the Norton issue, you must remove the main component first,
then Live Reg. If you try to remove Live Reg first, it will tell you
that it can't be removed as it is being used by Norton anti virus which
must be removed first.

Hi Andy,

I just sent you a message to ask what you'd done then looked at my next
message and it was yours, so please forgive and ignore my question!

If you ever get it completely out, let me know . . ..

I'm glad I'm not the only one who gets up and plays computer in the
middle of the night!

All the best.

Hi Carol.

What a night. I was up until 3am trying to sort everything out. I
managed it eventually. I was advised to use unclean to remove Norton as
Add/Remove programmes in Control Panel had no option to remove Norton.
However, when I attempted this, I was only allowed to uninstall one of
the two components. After I did this however, I could not remove the
other component or even

turn Norton off again. I took Peter's advise and un-checked everything
to do with Norton within my msconfig. Although I still have Norton
installed, it has been turned off and I'm back to using Sygate and AVG.
Perhaps if I attempt to uninstall Norton now by using unclean, it will
work, but for the meantime, I'm just going to let it sit there.
Unfortunately, I also restored my computer back 2 months last night so
now have to reinstall a few programmes. Remind me in future Carol if I
start talking about trying Norton again eh?

Best wishes.
Andy from sunny Kilcreggan.
