I use HSBC, and find their site accessible. It has nice headings to jump
around, and when you log in you are on a page which give your account
balances, and you can click on one of your accounts to see all your recent
transactions. You can do all the useful things such as transfer money, pay
bills, deal with direct debits, etc. I have just had a message from them
that they will be "improving" their website within the next few weeks, so I
do hope this doesn't mean it will be less accessible. I am always a bit
anxious when companies say they are going to do this. HSBC haven't yet
introduced these card readers, and I did hear somewhere that they are not
going to do so. The way you log in with them is with an internet banking
number which they give you when you apply to join. On the next page you
have to enter your date of birth in a certain way, and then three numbers
from your security number, which you have already chosen when you first
joined.

Hi artin,

Will certainly take a look, I'm not sure if we can face switching all of our
banking to another bank at this stage but may well start with my own side of
things. Certainly interested you mention Natwest in light of post re
talking card reader.

Keep the comments coming folks!!

Cheers,

Phil

I use natwest online banking and that has been recognised as being
accessible. it works with jaws eight and work well too. it also work well
with System access which I use to get online now as jaws is broken, another
tale that. *smile*

hi,

My wife and I have used the IF online bank for a good few years now for all
our transactions, savings, direct debits etc. Up until now I've let her as
the sighted one do all the necessaries re managing the accounts and I have
no complaints with that apart from the fact I would really like to be more
hands on with what's going on, look after some of the stuff myself in
particular as I am self-employed and so would like to be able to deal with
some more of the basic work of moving money around myself.

so my questions is quite simple, what experience do people have of different
online banking services and in particular is there one bank / building
society that people really rate in term of the accessibility of their site
with access technology (in my case Jaws 8). I will do some investigating of
our current bank, IF, although from the limited experience I've had before
it seems quite confusing to work with when you're trying to manage say a
couple of current accounts, savings, ISA's etc.

Anyway your comments / recommendations gratefully received,

with thanks,

Phil
