Hi Jackie, OK, well I would have recommended trialing out Studio Recorder as its an extremely accessible product with jaws but, if you are going to need multi track recording then this won't work. Goldwave would be a cheaper solution which I believe has some multi track capability though how extensive this is, I'm afraid I don't know. Audacity could be a free solution but again, I've never found it great with Jaws. The most comprehensive and accessible package I've found for serious studio quality recording which, is very much an industry standard product, is Cakewalks Sonar. Expensive yes, but its full of features, editing facilities, effects and a variety of conversion formats. Free scripts are available called jSonar and there are also the caketalkin scripts which I believe George still does. If your at University, perhaps you could get it via your DSA. Anyway, hope that helps. Best wishes Steve -----Original Message----- From: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Jackie Cairns Sent: 09 October 2011 09:39 To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [access-uk] Re: Accessible Editing Software Hi Steve Looks like it'll be speech for making and editing programmes. I'm doing a degree in journalism at the University of Ulster. I know what the lecturer means when he explains to the class what to do with Adobe Auditions, but I don't think it's compatible with JAWS. He recommended the free version of Audacity, so I may download and start taking a look at that. Someone very kindly sent me some info about it, so thanks enormously to that person. It's basically broadcasting stuff, and while I have my Campus Assistant who could do what I ask her in terms of working with the stuff, I would like to get my hands dirty and try myself as well. Hope this makes sense. What are you using the software for? Music editing? Speech recording? I believe it is actually Adobe Auditions version three. But either way, I am not sure I have heard anybody using this with JAWS. But, as requested previously, any assistance with something accessible that would do the job, such as Audacity, would be great. Many thanks.
