Sinclair Spectrum Hardware Index
================================

TOTAL ITEMS = 322
LAST UPDATE = 4th Oct 97

What Is It ?
------------
Well, read the title !
This is an attempt to catalogue as many hardware add ons for the
ZX Spectrum as possible. Not many, you may think... think again...
Having flicked through just one issue of Sinclair User (Oct 83) I found
no fewer than 48 items available from various companies... and so began
this list. Many will be familiar to Spectrum freaks out there, like the
Fuller Box and Kempston Interface, but how many of you remember the
Minocron ?
Before you continue and read this list, please read the info below, as
several things are explained that may stop you E-mailing me with complaints. ;-)

Where can I get the latest Index from ?
---------------------------------------
The latest version of the Spectrum Hardware Index, along with features,
reviews and pictures, can be obtained from my web page.
The Spectrum Hardware Page - www.xsite.ltd.uk/pj/index.html

Why No Joysticks ?
------------------
There a few joysticks mentioned, but only those that are different from the
average 'stick & two button' jobs. Sticks like the Trickstick or JE Lazor
deserve a mention becaue of the new approach they took. Standard joysticks
must number in the hundreds, with so many variations, it would be very hard
if not impossible to catalogue. If anyone want to have a go, then please do.

Entries:
------------
Here is a brief description of the index:

NAME: Pretty self explanitory really. This holds the name of the
product and usualy the manufacturer as well. For example the
Fuller Box can be found under 'F' and not 'B' because the
advert the entry was taken from advertised 'The Fuller Box'.

MANUFACTURER: Another self explanitary one. This will hold the actual
maker of the unit. (not the re-seller) Several items have
been seen in other companies ads, but to my knowledge, this
index only holds the original manufacturers.
If you know better... E-mail me.

PRICE: The price is including vat (15%) in those days, and is not
the 'bargin' price offered in later adverts. It should give a good representation of the price for the newly advertised
                 product.

BLURB: Here you find information and/or advertising blurb used in
the adverts. Don't blame me for the corny stuff here !
Paragraphs in quotes are direct translations of the actual
text appearing in adverts or reviews.

SOURCE: This will list the source of the advert, usually a magazine. Obviously there are other adverts in other magazines at other
times, but at least this provides a means to validate the
                 entries.
