David, what's the best way to get the patch banks in Arch?
The banks come installed with the package, so this most
likely boils down to a missing config file
~/.config/yoshimi/yoshimi.config
This file is written on first exit, so you can start yoshimi,
exit via 'Yoshimi' -> 'Exit' menu (not from the Terminal via
ctrl+C, which is what I more often do) and a config file
containing the proper default bank paths gets written,
recognised upon next application start.
I admit, this can be confusing - but yoshimi has no default
config file below /etc, and PKGBUILDs are not supposed
to write in user's home directories, so I see no way of
doing this at install time.
At least it only has to be done once after an initial
yoshimi install.
I changed the install file to echo a few lines informing the
user about this. To me, this seems to be the best
solution, correct me pls if someone knows a better one.
best,
d
